A word that derives from the words 'Oshi' (推し) meaning to give your support and 'Menba' (メンバ) the Japanese pronunciation of the word member.
These two words join together and create Oshimen (推しメン).
Fans of groups that have a large number of people within them often have Oshimen. For example AKB48 and Morning Musume are quite large and people like to have their favourite member or oshimen (herein shortened to Oshi).
My Oshi from Morning Musume is difficult to choose right now. So many girls have wonderful personalities and voices, all kinds of skills with each one being unique, so my Oshi frequently changes.
As of right this moment I have to say it is Ishida Ayumi.
When I first started to like Momusu Kamei Eri was my Oshi, then it was Ikuta for a brief amount of time. Then Iikubo since she auditioned. Now it's Ishida and Iikubo following closely behind ^^;;;
My Oshi are very rarely the ones who are in the spotlight, they usually have squeakier or less than appealing voices according to the masses, but I like them because they shine in other ways, Iikubo is stylish, but has a very strange personality and is really fun to watch.
Ikuta won me over with her KY awkward personality, it was also fun to watch =D.
Daaishi just radiates warmth, happiness and this overall 'Daaishi-feeling' that fans have recently been talking about.
And I fell in love Eri at first sight (*).(*) I don't think I'll ever get over her.
